HoW to make SAND CAST CANDLES

Make your own beeswax candles

Introducing SAND CAST CANDLES

I was so excited when I found out about sand casting! It’s a process of moulding things where you can make casts out of sand to create any shape you like. It’s even used to shape metal in steel foundries! I’ve suggested two shapes in this kit but you can shape the sand however you like, around any solid objects you have in your home and make candles in your own unique design! Once you’ve used the sand, it’s actually used in the final candle design.

These candles are made using natural beeswax which smells slightly of honey. I’ve included two candles which are hexagon shapes to celebrate the honeycomb shape.

Candle making TOP TIPS

- Be careful with the hot wax! Use something heat proof to hold the hot jar!

- Don’t get wax too hot. Melt it slowly and pour it cool. It takes at least 30 minutes for the wax to melt.

- Leave candles to cool completely before moving them.

- Keep a little melted wax back each time to use for re-pours if sink holes develop.
