Rainbow heart felt garland guide

Needle felting wool

Introducing The felt heart garland craft kit

This rainbow coloured woolly number is just so cool! I’ve worked with some of my favourite suppliers for this kit. They share our sustainable values and produce just the best materials!.

I’ve seen so many rainbows in the community in the last year being displayed as a symbol of hope in these difficult times so I really wanted to work that into this design. I’m hoping you’ll really enjoy this loved up project.

This is a really simple introduction to the craft of needle felting. It’s a brilliant craft! You can make incredible three dimensional sculptures and works of art with nothing more than some wool and a special needle. A felting needle has barbs on the end which mesh the strands of wool together to make felt.

I really hope you enjoy this craft. If you get stuck you can book a one to one 30 minute craft help session with me via the Members Hub.

TOP TIPS

  • Be careful! The needle is really sharp and you’re stabbing near to your fingers so keep an eye out.

  • Be patient! The key to so many crafts. It looks like nothing is happening to start with but you will see the wool transform to felt in front of you!

  • Patching - If you have a bare spot that needs a bit of extra wool, just take a pinch of new wool, hold it in place and get stabbing!

  • Reuse! - This kit includes cookie cutters and a plastic free sponge. Why not hold onto them after crafting and use them elsewhere?

  • You should have a little extra wool. Maybe experiment by adding details to your hearts or make some other wool shapes.
